Nancy McKibbin

 I was born in the 196os, in Montreal, Canada, but came to Australia when very young. I now live in Sydney. I love to travel, go to the beach and gym, and read, read, read and write. ! I am a grandmother, too, and have 10 other siblings.

I have always loved books since I first discovered them in the school's library and read voraciously Enid Blyton books, Hans Christian Anderson and Oscar Wilde. It wasn't long before I started writing, sporadicaly, in my mid-teens. Later at university, I explored and loved the world of English literature.

I am also a primary school teacher, my other love being children. Marry literature and children and you have a perfect recipe for a children's author. As a teacher, my philosophy is that all kids need to read, not just to build their reading and comprehension skills but also to provide fuel for their imagination- good imagination equates with empathetic, human beings with a creative mind that can be used to solve complex future world problems.

Lastly, I strongly believe in a fair go for every human person.
